Autumn Lipstick Awards

Welcome to the Autumn Lipstick Awards!

I have painstakingly combed through my lipstick collection to bring you the best of the best. My number ones (and runners up, of course) for each favourite Autumm hue.

Reds

Winner: MUA Shade 1

This lipstick isn't shimmery as I now realise the swatch makes it appear, it's actually a really nice, deep red with a demi-matte finish. No bells and whistles, just a very pigmented lipstick that is cruelty free and costs just £1 from our favourite budget makeup brand!

Purples

Winner: Makeup Revolution Rebel with Cause

This was my first ever Revolution purchase back last Winter and I have loved it ever since. Swoon. I love it to embrace my inner goth or glam up my face. Purples are an Autumn staple and this is a great little number to start with if you're easing yourself into the vampy lippy trend. (Which you definitely should. Get with the times!). And again, it's cruelty free and £1.

Runner Up: Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lacquer Keep Lying For You

Quite a mouthful but definitely an interesting purchase. This was actually a recent impulse buy, I just couldn't not take this home with me. Especially at only £3! I absolutely adore the colour, it's so daring. It's not as deep as Rebel With Cause, it's vibrant and the matte finish makes it all the more brave. The actual feel of the formula on my lips is something I'm getting used to, it's rather strange but I'm definitely enjoying rocking this shade for now.

Nudes

Winner: GOSH Velvet Touch 161 Sweetheart (£6.99)

This is probably my favourite and most worn out of the whole bunch. I mention it in my recent drugstore haul and it's continuted to be the absolute bomb. I wish it was more on the matte side because it's so creamy but the shade is beautiful. More of a mauve toned nude which is a nice change from my usual pink or brown. And it's cruelty free. Boom.

Runner Up: MUA Fawn Fancy

This is a great shade and finish for every day wear. I like to pair it with a subtle bronze shimmer on my lids to make myself look like a sparkly golden goddess. It isn't drying at all which is a winner in my books. And guess what... It's £1.

Oranges

Winner: Body Shop Coral Cutie (£10)

You may see the words coral or orange and think I'm out of my mind. "It's Autumn. WHY is she promoting anything other that nudes and berry tones?!". Well leaves are orange and pumpkins are orange so my lips shall be orange. It's a creamy formula with amazing colour pay off that I think suits all year round wear.

Have you tried any of these winners before?
Who would have won your awards?

  1. I've been meaning to do a post similar to this!!
The Makeup Revolution 'Rebel With Cause' is incredible, I have to have it. I haven't seen their velvet lacquers either so I'll definitely have to check them out.
My go to lipstick at the moment is Topshop's 'Inhibition', it's the perfect vampy lip! xx
