Are you bored of talking about autumn (And all things "autumnal") yet?
I hope not. 'Cause I got a whole heap of autumn comin' at ya.
I know I'm not alone in saying that one of the wonderful things that autumn brings is the fashion and beauty. Nude lips, berry nails and golden eyes are just some of the classic autumn looks that I love to wear this time of year and I thought I'd share my everyday make up look at the moment, with some of the star products that I love.
Every product that I talk about here is under £10 (most are under £5). I really like saving my more high end products for when I'm not sitting vacantly in uni. I don't think my lecturers will fully apprecite a £30 foundation or £25 blusher so I'd rather not waste it on them. Sorry, Bob, mate.
I start with my GOSH foundation and primer that I talk about here, it's lovely and longwearing giving a medium coverage and demi-matte finish. I then conceal blemishes and brighten under my eyes with concealer (still searching for that holy grail!) before setting with powder.
Now on to the colour and fun stuff.
I adore this blusher for autumn, and I know I'll love it equally when the warmer months come round again. It's the Milani Baked Blush in Corallina. I think the product looks absolutely beautiful with it's glittery swirls and lovely dome shape. It's really pigmented so apply with a light hand but the finished look is so pretty with a subtle glitter so it's kind of like a highligher and blusher in one. BONUS.
Usually I like to add a subtle contour under my jaw and cheek bones as my face is a giant blob with no definition. Sucks to be me. I use the Sleek Contour Palette and love it, but am quite keen to try some new contour products, so please share any favourites of yours! A new favourite brush for contouring is an Eco Tools foundation buffing brush, the domed bristles are amazing for getting the product right where you want it so it would be a good brush for beginners.
As you can see, my GOSH nude lipstick (which happens to be quite a nice MAC Velvet Teddy dupe, just sayin') is well loved. I wear it almost every day to lectures or if I'm just popping out. I think it complements a golden eye beautifully and is very subtle compared to some of my other favourites. It's a creamy formula with good lasting power and I highly recommend picking it up!
Another new favourite is my Make Up Revolution highligher. This stuff packs a punch. Be careful you don't go overboard - apply with a light hand or you may end up being asked why your face looks gold, as I was. The amount of product you get for the price is VERY impressive and it gives a gorgeous shimmery finish that I think would look lovely on most skin tones.
The eyes are always the most fun to do. I usually love a nude palette for every day eyeshadow (boooooring I know), but I saw these singles for a pound each and had to give them a go. I chose Galactic (pictured) which is a shimmery bronze and Mountains of Gold, a coppery gold. I love to lightly apply Galactic over the lid and blend a darker matt brown into the crease. Yes, it is perhaps a bit shimmery for every day for some people but I love to sparkle. Because I'm a fairy princess. Obv.
I usually smudge a line of this Soap and Glory kohl above my top lashline, or if I'm feeling more daring (or can be bothered) I'll draw a bold line with a cat-eye flick. The formula of this liner is so creamy and delicious, it glides over my lash line and doesn't smudge and leave that annoying line on your eye from where your eye has been open. You know the one.
Finish with a thick coating of mascara (I'm loving Seventeen Falslifye HD), make sure dem brows are on fleek (I like the Sleek Brow Stylist) and you're good to go.
And, yes.
It's true.
I DID pick leaves and bring them into my house for this post.
That's what you call dedication.
